    Default Peregrine Falcon with Rainbow

    Model = Canon EOS-1D Mark II N
    Exposure Time = 1/1250"
    F Number = F8
    Exposure Program = Manual
    ISO Speed Ratings = 400
    Metering Mode = Spot
    Flash = Off
    Focal Length = 400mm
    Color Space = sRGB
    Exposure Mode = Manual exposure
    Handheld using Bushawk

    Went back to visit the acrobats yesterday afternoon. There was this huge rainbow when we got there. I wanted to get an image with the Peregrines in front of this natural wonder. I managed to get a few great keepers with the rainbow. This is my favourite one.

    We watched with amazement as the young Falcons practiced their skills. We saw one of the juveniles "sneak" up on an unsuspecting Black Crowned Night Heron and hit him on the back. The BCNH wasn't too impressed. The same thing was repeated with an unaware Ring-billed Gull. Great fun to just watch these raptors, let alone have the chance to photograph them!

    That is a pretty unique BG. Great details and look back pose, too. You mean the juveniles just practiced attacking and only gave them puncture wounds?

    Lovely work and nice story. I love idea that these birds were "messin" with the other birds.

    I love this image. Probably one of the hardest birds to capture in-flight and you managed it with a beautiful BG to boot.

    I dont know how I missed this one first time around. The color in the rainbow is reflecting in the bird which really sets it off to me.
