    Late hatch of Piping Plovers - counted 4 - At the Batson River where it meets the Gulf of Maine.

    Great running pose and eye contact, it looks good for a big crop. It needs a bit CW rotation and the catchlight looks a bit odd.

    Really lovely moment, good work with the crop working out.
    The Catchlight in the eye looks weird to me .

    Nice action captured, Bob, and the image emphasizes how these little guys are all legs at this age. I agree with the previous comments. As this is a big crop, I wonder how it would look (as an alternative presentation) if you backed off the crop quite a bit and placed the chick in the LLC. This might give the image a very different mood (e.g., it's a big world out there and I'm very small and vulnerable). Just a thought. :)

    Wonderful moment though the quality loss from the large crop is evident. Good point by Steve above. Selective sharpening of the chick might be in order. The 500 on a low tripod with the 1.4 TC would have been nice...

    I like the eye contact (catchlight doesn't bother me) Clean surrounds - first thing I though when I saw it was....
    lower angle would have been awesome - agree with the CW rotation.
    :)
