Lovely! The light, the composition, the ambient, the situation, all, except that I would've clone that green plant behind him/her. Congratulations! Outstanding shot!

I agree with Ramon about the green plant behind.
But the colors are great and I love the sharpness of it.
    Lovely bg. Thanks for sharing.

Get eaten alive while photographing this at SP?

I think that if the plant matter had been further away from the bird, I would have liked it actually, As it is so close, it does detract a tad to my eyes.

Other than that, I like it!

Mike, I really like this image. I've noticed throughout your images that you like to include a bit of flora along with your fauna, and that's commendable. I like the splash of green. My only thought was that the placement of the green could be better. I know there's most likely nothing that you could have done about this, but just as an example to others I've attached what (in my opinion) would have been ideal. I like the out of the box composition and the background. Great work.

Blake beat me to the punch... Moving the green even a bit more to the right, to the top of the little hill, might have yielded a bit better compostional balance. BTW, the ORIG post is sweet, esp. the light.
