    Photographed this male painted bunting on territory during the 2006 Pro Tour of Nature Photography contest in the Hill Country of TX.

    Canon 20D, EF600mmF4IS, 1.4x, Gitzo & wimberly, 550EX, -1 2/3 fill flash, ISO 200, 1/30 @ F5.6

    This makes me so envious. :) I've never seen this species and this image is excellent. The soft light and fill flash work really well.

    Super pose, BG & perch. This is one of the better Paintws Bunting images I have seen.

    Love the pose and colors. The color patch on the throat looks a bit oversaturated and lacking in detail.

    an image many photographers at Corkscrew dream of while standing for an hour at the feeders
    agree with all of the above
    one more minor nit/suggestion - - with cloning you could improve the eye catch, and give it a sharper look
    great effort
