This was taken near Machias Seal Island a few hours ago. The weather was rough and we were unable to lando n the island. As many times as I have been on the island (17).......I have never been able to take this kind of image. We were going around the island in the small boat and was able to capture a few of these. The light was diffused a bit.........but I was wishing for a bit more..........never mind I would have preferred to land on the island. Mark 3 & the 100-400mm lens at 400mm at ISO 640 at f8 and 1/3200 sec. hand held on a rockin' boat. Srop off bottom only. Shold I take some off the back?
As always comments welcomed and appreciated.
Neat takeoff pose and I like the composition. The catchlight looks a bit odd, did you add it? I'm sorry to hear you couldn't land. When I was there on Saturday a few people got pretty wet when they left the boat.
Mr Currycheck, I am fine with the COMP but not with the bird flying away from you... Long drive from NJ. You gotta love it.

Good sharpness, exposure, and composition, Roman. I would not crop from the right as the splashing water adds to the image, IMO. I would wish for a better head angle, but that's my only nit.
