Well tried something a little different with this one - taken in harsh light - but was after that STUDIO look I love to chase sometimes, sort of worked maybe....

Cropped a little and a slight curve adjustment - other than that as shot.

Hi Harold - was just a experiment - whites are close but definetly under in the original raw anyway.
The BG in case you are wondering is water.

The lighting effect and EXP are great. What is the speices? (They are never "just gulls.") Congrats to Nondra for noting the need for a better head angle... Having the head turned away here is an image wrecker. About half of the images posted here suffer from poor head angles. Folks need to be aware of the head angle as they are looking through the viewfinder and must learn to press the shutter button at the ideal time. All are invited to check out the Head Angle Police thread in Educational Resources.

Artie's right...a slight turn towards you and this would have been even better. Great exposure and I love your tight crop and composition. Nicely done!

Thanks Artie - comments like yours are always much appreciated, as without them, us folks here in the eager to learn forum - don't learn anything.

This is a Silver Gull - you find them every were over here - Rubbish tIps, beach, parks, city all over.

I did have a look at the HAP police thread - all noted and the examples were extremely helpful, Many thanks
