It was difficult enough to get close without spooking the bird hence I grabbed the shot
when the chance came. Bit of a shame there was no eye contact here.
Maxis already mentioned the head-turn/eye contact, but you know it. Sometimes it's better to grab an image until next time. Very nice species; hopefully you will come across them with better light angle and/or fill flash capability. :)
There is a difference between eye contact and head angle. The eye contact with this image is fine--it is the head angle that is the problem. Sweet bird, nice visible eye, nice perch and BKGR, and fine COMP. And yes to the blue cast in the white neck.
