    Question Juvenile Cardinal On Arch

    70-300mm @300mm
    f 7.1
    1/80 sec.
    ISO 800

    i don't know why but i got some good detail in this cardinal shot. i tried to use all of the tech skills you taught me except i was in low light using aperture priority and exposed at 1/80 sec.

    i can see now i should have cloned out the black triangle on the left.
    i also wanted you to know i used some edge sharpening. but i don't think it did that much to the photo.

    Hi Mike, very sweet image - great feather detail - well done! Agree that the black triangle needs to go.

    Hi Mike - did some quick and dirty adjustments.

    Cropped - so there is more space in front of the bird than behind.
    Looked a tad dark - lightened the bird.
    Sharpened the entire bird and the eye.

    thanks you all. i can really see the difference with the extra sharpening. i can also see the good effects of cropping the left.
    i'll keep both of those details handy for the future.
