This was taken at Loxahatchee while I was photographing the stilt juvies .. The flowers were out in full bloom making a lovely BG for the male stilt.

Awesome pose and BG Judy! The eye looks great too. I would remove the brown thing next to the bill. And I might soften the visual impact of the light green plant in the LLC.

As you said Judy, LOVELY, I agree with Doug about removing the brown thing next to the bill, but still an amazing shoty! Congrats!

Great light, setting, exposure control, details and the raised foot adds to it. I guess the brown blade of grass could go but it doesn't bother me. Thanks for sharing!

Great picture, nice pose and perfect exposure.
I took a mental picture of the stilt with the flowers on the background last Saturday, it was too far for the 500 and 1.4TC.
I did saw two the chicks walking around.

    Saludos,
    Raul

With the exception of the already mentioned object I wouldn't change a thing. Probably the prettiest stilt photo I have seen.

Really nice. Great to see the stilt in something other than sand and water. Of course, I have never seen one....in anything . The setting makes it for me.

Definitely loving this one Judy. You sure couldn't expose this one any better. I only wish those two bare patches were covered in either grass or flowers, but definitely not within your control. The brown grass mentioned is easy enoght to fix, so no big deal there.

I love the red eyes! Perfect exposure, and a really wonderful Stilt!

    Judy,
I love this one as is. The brown grass doesn't bother me at all. I think it's a matter of taste there.
The scene is beautiful. I love everything about it. The sharp focus on the stilt, The bg, and the leg lifted.

    Lovely all around image.

This is awesome Judy... Just awesome. The pose, BG, exposure all coming together! I've seen them a only a couple of times in person, but from a fair distance... I didn't even know they had red eyes.
