A set up in the back garden offered this opportunity to show how aggressive these little finches can be when there is competition for food.

I like the 'action' Jon, but the berries at the top add nothing, possibly more of a distraction and certainly makes the set up more artificial IMHO.

I see what you mean, I did wonder about removing, but the Goldfinch did actually jump off the twig to harass the Sparrow.

Jon you could put a diving board in and the GF’s would dive from it, but it too, would look odd, I’d just crop it out.

    Hi Jon,

I'm enjoying the 'killer attack' posture of the Goldfinch! I'll never see them in the same light again.

Have to agree with Steve that the red berries are somewhat of a distraction. I'm sure the in your mind they are part of the story, but that part of the story isn't self evident to the viewer.

    Thanks for sharing, Gerald

Nice interaction captured. Nice light and details too. I agree with the others on the berries. TFS.

Thanks everyone, I am still unsure about those berries! I am not always a fan of "clean images" - sometimes am sometimes not.
