    I captured this image at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. Like a lot of things in Florida this bird does not belong here but has established a population. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Jo you're making me think I have wasted a lot of photo opportunities, I really like the tight portraits. I enjoy looking and looking, I had never appreciated the the bill having such detail, I presume those membranes act as some kind of filter. The eye detail is also intriguing.... lovely shot I like it.

    Hi Joe,

    I share your enjoyment of tight portraits. This brings intrigue and interest to a rather mundane bird that we can easily take for granted.

    I like the detailed texture of the tightly packed small feathers all over the head. Very cool!
