Nicely done and I like the crop. Though the head and bill are pretty much covered by the d-o-f, slowing down and stopping down would have yielded some sharper feathers -- perhaps 1/2000 sec. at f/13. You would not have had to worry about bringing up unwanted background detail :-)

Thank you for the feedback, Artie. My first reaction after seeing the image on the computer screen was, "I wish I had stopped down for more d-o-f". I need to get better at changing the aperture when needed.

Well captured. I really like the control of the blacks/whites. The eye and bill look real good. I would reduce the highlights a little on the feathers, especially the chest area. This would bring out more detail.
