    Default Black Grouse (Lyrurus tetrix)

Image captured from my car. Slight crop and three blades of grass removed.
I returned to the location this morning; photography was impossible - a large campervan had been parked overnight and the occupants were still in bed! Having said that it was also raining and the wind was blowing into my direction. I will return hopefully when there is a pleasing sunrise ......and no capervans.

    Hi Jon,

Not a bird I have photographed, so good to see a nice clean image of the bird with clear detail. I like the distant background behind the head; the foreground is a little messy, but that's where the birds go!

    Thanks for sharing,

    Gerald

Jon ... oh man , subject looks very good !!!
Pose is nice as is the landscape . Tone and colors looking good .
The crop is not ideal IMHO .... not enough below , but too much above . At least for me

I like it Jon, but your framing just kills the image. Stick a bit of black card at the foot of the lens to offer a false frame edge so when shot you have more below, but do something,,,, please.

That must be a first, albeit I have been banging on about it.
