It's always a gamble when approaching these big birds, as they will fly or let you approach, but here we just got far enough as he/she was just on the cusp of flying, but settled down. Just liked the jaunty HA here.

Can't wait to get back next year, new location for me and hopefully some great sightings, but who knows...

I like it! The pose looks interesting and the colours look very good. Those talons look pretty fearsome too.

Looking good Steve. I do like the HA and details you captured. Good detailed perch as well. I would take some from the bottom, I think it reduces the 'looking upwards' feel. The BG looks good with the leaves against the blue sky.

Well done. That angle of inclination is not too steep, and we have a great look at the near talons. I like the curious look and you handled the mixed light very well.

    Hi Steve,

Think I would avoid the sharp end of one of these!

Nice clean image detail and colours. Agree with Will that the crop seems to emphasise the angle of inclination. Has an interesting look about it!

    Regards,

    Gerald

Hi Steve ... I think one of the prettiest eagles .

Nice shot and you have processed this beautifully , I am not too fuzzed about the HA ... but others seem to like it .

    Plumage does look superb .

    Thanks folks.

Artie, I find it often hard to know where to draw the line re 'Steep'. There is always that dilemma, shoot far away and crop, or very slowly move forward to a point where the subject is still comfortable, yet the angle isn't 'steep'. Any thoughts/advice?
