Hi Will, I like the idea of almost looking down at the bird as it banks, so you get this almost 'plan' view. Normally I'm not a lover of heads intersecting BKG horizons, but the colours are pale enough, so you can get away with it. is this a big crop or FF.

Very nice indeed Will, the plumage is beautifully rendered, my first reaction was the horizon but I still think a super image.

Thanks Steve and Jon, much appreciated. About a 50% crop Steve. I had the 2x on then took it off, as they were coming closer. should have left it on for this shot. At f/8 I had plenty of SS and ISO to work with.

OK so you are down to 10mpx enough for social media. 2x IQ, not sure, think what you did was right.

Hi Will ... wow a very cool Gannet pose , which one can almost not get from my favorite location on Helgoland .
I like it as presented , albeit the intersection with the horizon might be not ideal ....

    Very nice work overall

Nice timing on this one Will. I am fine with the horizon intersection because the horizon is so faint in this image. Great job of nabbing the action!
