Default Elephant from the past ...LOL

    Hi folks ...
had a healthy discussion , at least from my POV , with Steve about being or not being creative and thinking OOTB . Starting with his recent KF images posted in Avian ....
Will not go into details .... as it was offline from here .
So this is a simple proof what I have done already back in 2004 .... ... albeit not posted yet or something similar in appearance .

Image taken in Etosha NP in a very green park .... quite unusual from my experience

If this is a creative approach ... well I leave this to the viewer ! At least this is different to my normal approach in capture and somewhat in processing .

Let me know what you think .... the HONEST way

Processed with DPP and PSCC 2023 ; full frame , no trickery apart from tonal and color adjustments .... most of them locally

    Thanks for watching and commenting

    Cheers Andreas

    Hello Andreas,

I like this, very much, can already imagine it printed on canvas. Surprised you have not posted it before.

Love the sense of movement, I think colours are great, framing works, indeed a bit unusual and very creative - very well done!

Sometimes the creative approach really pays off...in this case with stunning results. Really glad you kept this and I thank you for sharing

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thanks so much Gabriela for your comment , glad you like the really old stuff .
I do agree that sometimes going overboard in capture and processing does work well ... sadly for the most time I do forget about it . But have to say that I do sometimes try to blur things in good light .... only when I have my safety shots in the box . Still not enough doing this ...

    Cheers Andreas

I do understand. I am 'old school' and tend to go for sharp images and blurred backgrounds, perfect composition. But every now and then get pretty excited when I see something different that really works and which grabs me.

Sadly, I have so little time on my hands...despite living in the wilderness and enjoying wonderful sightings almost on the daily basis. The other day had to drive past four lions because I was rushing to get to work. This afternoon encountered my favourite two cheetah boys, had about half an hour of light but no time to play around, had to make sure the new gear is working and set up properly because in a few days' time I am going on a camping trip. So maybe over the next few weeks I will be able to experiment a bit, looking forward to a change of scenery and hope the unpredictable happens

Keep experimenting and sharing, would love to see something different again from you.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Sorry to hear you're rushing through life .... and missing shooting oops .
I hope you will a great time in Kruger ??? Say hi to Carl ... from the sleepy grey socked German
Yes one needs to get set up new gear first ... once that done , shoot the **** out of it . Including doing funny stuff ... LOL . Cost nothing but time and drive space .... can even stay for 20 years .... like this image
But basically I am like you going for the standard shot , quite boring at times .
Anette is completely different she does shoot strange things ... at times , but hey she is having fun with her gear and sometimes there is something crazy good in between .

    Cheers Andreas

Would you believe it, we saw a cheetah mom with cub this morning around 7 am, just outside the camp...unfortunately all I have is a one minute video taken with my cellphone, left the cameras behind as we were going to Richards Bay.
I'll say hello to Carl from you Kruger, ummmm... always good in terms of sightings, photography wise we shall see...Hope to bring some keepers, including funny stuff

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Super shot Andreas, I like it very much, I think it would make a pleasing print.

I love lots of intentional blurs. I like this one as it is relatively sharp on the head for 1/8 sec. The only thing that bugs me is that the animal is angling away from you. And me.

Looks good to me Andreas. Something different which inspires me. I think the slight head turn towards us helps.

    Will
