Hi folks ... back in business after a short non photographic holiday , albeit I have taken a couple of not very exciting images
But for the start I share another image taken some weeks ago .
The location is quite dark ... so difficult circumstances and this image is from my first scouting visit with small kit .
As you can see the surroundings are quite busy and I could not get any lower at that point .

THX for looking and commenting to my previous postings , as always critiques in any form are more than welcome .

This is a really nice view of this fun little bird and a very good result given crappy conditions and f/10! Bird is very attentive, and the details are great across the subject. I like the green leaf pressed up against the base of the stick. The bird would ideally be facing the other way, out from the stick, but there's enough separation between the stick and the beak as is. The texture on the rushing water is very nice. Shows the habitat perfectly,

Yes Andreas difficult conditions for sure. but it is the subjects home. Aside from all the negatives. The bird is well displayed and you have brought out the details in the subject superbly. Reminds me of our dipper. TFS

No need to apologise for location - this is their habitat. Very well caught and nicely presented. Details and colours look good, I think this is an unusual image we usually see them on rocks or diving int he water... I like it very much. One image I have yet to be successful in obtaining is a slow SS image where the bird is sharp and the water is silky smooth.

Very nice and natural looking Andreas...The detail on the bird is beautiful. Great pose and just enough oof on the perch to 'show' the bird looking past it. Love the facial expression. f/10 worked very well here IMO. I can 'feel' the movement of the water in the FG. Great looking birds and you showed it well.

@ Jon ... yes would love to try that with the slow shutter speed to get the silky flowing water .
