    Default Black-and-white Warbler (Newfloundland)

Got this on a very dreary morning, during a twenty minute break in what was otherwise steady rain. Went with a wide a crop to show surroundings and threw a bit of extra light on the subject to make it stand out from the boreal surroundings.

    Canon 600mm f/4 IS II + 1.4x III on EOS R5
    1/1250 at f/5.6, ISO 2000
Processed in LR Classic. Cloned one small but distracting specular highlight.

Dorian may have been a dreary morning but the image just pops . What a beauty details on the bird and love the new growth on the spruce candles. TFS

Great contrast between bird and surrounds. So much to like in the shot with the bird and foliage. Perfect head turn.

Hi Dorian ... image looks very good in terms of subject in its habitat , good to see you are not shooting only super sterile stuff . Having variations is a good thing , IMHO.

Toners looking good overall as does the details , just the colors look a bit " off " in some parts ... particularly the blues do look a bit strong , but maybe the subject is that blue in real life ??!!

    Cool shot and TFS Andreas

I knew there was something funny with the bird, but I couldn't put my finger on it. At your suggestion, I knocked the blue down and think the result more accurately depicts the species. Thanks!
