    Default Puffin Flowers

Shot this on my recent trip to Iceland, Grimsey Island.
Processed with Dpp 4,Topaz noise, Photoshop. I moved some out of focus flowers into the right lower corner due to large area with no flowers.. Also took down the brightness on the out of focus puffin. Appreciate any comments and critiques.

    Kevin:

The puffin has wonderful detail, such special birds. I could see a version cropped in from the left some, and then go ahead and removing what remained of the OOF puffin in the background. It would be interesting to see the original without the flowers in the lower right corner, just for comparison.

    Cheers

Thanks Randy. I looked at cropping more on the right to get rid of the hole but it was going to be tight IMO.

Did another revision as Randy Stout suggested. I can see it both ways. Maybe getting a little large in the frame.

Incredible bird! I personally like your first version. I agree with you; the second is too tight. IMO the BG and flowers add to the image. In the first image, maybe removing the OOF bird, but I would certainly keep the original crop.

I like them both, might go in between the two versions as a nice compromise!

I'm really liking the concept here, I just think the background puffin is just a bit too oof for me. Otherwise great thinking, especially adding flowers to the bottom corner - comp feels balanced and the flowers add a lot to the whole frame. Nice details on the face!

The flowers are fun and the front bird looks good, but I agree the back bird is too OOF to be effective; as is, it distracts more than adds. I too would like see the frame pre-flower arrangement as I'm not a huge fan of adding elements in post.
