More of the cubs we shadowed over ten days. Finally this one actually paused for moment before launching more attacks on his brother/sister.... Having the mindset that ISO is just a number and with the added updates to NR, going higher isn't an issue.

    Dear Steve,

A cutie of a cub and looks like a boy to me, a little boy lion

As expected, colours and tones are spot on and sharpness is great, even at 1/400s.

Iso 10k... well it doesn't show Wanted to ask if you had some frames with the cubs playing, but it must have been difficult with those tall grasses? Happy to see you got this little one in the clear.
Pose is great, very nice IQ, cannot ask for more! You made the best of a busy environment, in the field as well as PP Those tiny droplets of dew also add to the image

Enjoyed viewing, very much, thank you so much for sharing!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thanks Gabriela, 10k is a 'walk in the park', and now, having quested certain aspects I wasn't happy with recently, I have reverted back to an aspect of DSLR I had parked when migrating to Mirrorless, but it's just as if the light switched was flicked ON... lets see.

1/400 was enough as I was just tucked neatly into my comfy position and new the IS would just do it's job providing the little one didn't move. PP could be enhanced a bit more as I think this was just when I got the Beta version before it got rolled out. I'm staggered in just how good it is now and it's only going to get better, although the Generate Fill I know is going to open up the flood gates even more to where you just cannot tell whether its real or fake with the manipulations.

Anyway may thanks for the kind words, hope all is good at your end.

Super shot well detailed. I haven't a clue what all the references are about, i.e. mirrorless DLSR high low ISO, surely you process the file as you see it - what's the difference if it was DLSY or mirrorless, it's the file that is processed, are you saying the file characteristics are different and you have to process in a different manner?

All good at my end, thank you Steve

Well, apart from the daily challenges, you know what they are...At the moment in the dark but with generator running, a bit envious of you with the light switched ON And curious too, but as you said, we'll see!

Have a super week-end and I hope to hear from you soon. Some new images would cheer me up endlessly

    Warmest regards,

The light switch has turned into a very big black hole, which very few people it appears knows about, or are aware off. On reflection perhaps I should not have discovered this, but now racking my brains on who to ask within Canon. I think Artie knows Rudy who is probably the best guy but trying get access is probably zero, so Monday might be a few phone calls.

Just finished the first edit from Tue/Wed so might forward a few quick edits. Have a great weekend too.

Surely Artie will help if he can, holding thumbs for you. I have just come out of the black hole then back in it again, lights on and off three times then off for who knows how long...this isn't fun but oh well I always console myself thinking 'at least I still have the wildlife'
So looking forward to those edits, when I see those emails it's like the lights are back on again
