    Default Chamois VII ( F )

Hi folks ... one of the rare moments in the Vosges during my trip with stunning warm light and having the Chamois in close range !!
Was just hiking around in search of them ... and then it just happened . Was just a brief situation ... before the small herd moved out of my reach .

    Canon EOS R3
    RF 2,8 400 IS L + 2 x TC
    HH

F 5,6 ; Iso 4000 ; 1/2500 sec ( kept SS high as I was hiking to avoid any movement while shooting the subject due to heavy breathing )

Processed with Capture One and PSCC 2023 ; full frame and added a tiny bit of canvas on RHS for a better balance . A 5x7 might work as well ... but I wanted to keep it a touch wider .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous postings

    Cheers Andreas

I like the image and the angle, colours look good too. Now I have a rather odd comment, not too sure how to express it technically speaking so here goes:
The Chamoix caot looks exceptionally well detailed, the grasses near it appear a little coarse and the background (sky) seems to be a little too distinct from the subject- the subject almost jumps out against the sky. The overall impression is that the Chamoix is not oversharpened but too clearly seen. Sounds a rather odd thing to say - the subject is too clear but I am unsure how to explain.

Thanks Jon ... glad you like it basically .
Thanks for the additional info about your " reservation " .... not sure what to answer , as to me it does look quite ok . The grasses are looking coarse in relation to the fur and the subject should jump from the blurry BG .
But I might be well wrong .

Here is a screen shot of the unedited raw taken in photomechanic ..... does look pretty similar in ratio

For me the processing i.e. whatever you did needs reducing i.e. towards the direction of the second image, but I do understand your view - after all it's your image!

Hi Andreas... The RP looks better to me. I like the low POV and the detail you captured on the fur. Nice that she is looking towards you. I would crop some of the OOF at the bottom, that's a personal opinion as it looks ok as is.

You are correct Jon ... it is too much . Not sure why I went overboard on the contrast front ....
