Had a little bit of leaves on part of his tail, but overall liked his perch.

Beautiful Tanager Paul wish you could get more detail out of the red on the head but I'm currently away from home on my laptop not the best for viewing. Bird really pops from the background. TFS

Super sharp on the eye and nice soft light. Bummer about the tail getting fuzzed out by a leaf. A crop off the bottom to 3X2 would likely improve it.

Why not? Added a bit of CYAN to the REDs in Selective Color, cropped as suggested, and cleaned up a bit by the tail and the undertail. Had you done any clean-up work there?

    Hi Artie,
Thanks - I hadn't done any clean up work by the tail, didn't think I could do much. Appreciate the advice and suggestions.

    Have a good week!

The red cracks on the green, but the bird is overexposed/saturated. I also find the OOF haze obscuring the tail to be very distracting. There is also a halo around the beak, crown and upper back. I'm just not sure conditions were gonna let you get much in this instance.

What a sweet bird with the lovely red jumping of the screen in the nice green surroundings .

IQ is completely off top me , looks very plastic overall .... not only the reds the beak as well . Might be just me ....

nice little colorful fellow, I agree the re channel is blown here, pulling it back in post can help, there seems to be a bit too much NR going on as well which could have caused the halo

Thanks; I did use auto in post, and did not add to saturation at all from the RAW image, and actually desaturarted the background a bit.

There were several tanagers in the area, and not sure if this was the same one as they flew to different perches, but here he is a little less cluttered.

It's more than likely the same individual as there is the same piece hanging from the tip of the tail. Despite the busier background it works better for me for the better feather detail and overall pose - I just wish the oof twig skimming the back was not there.
