Processing further images from my time with the Avocets this spring.

Here a small-in-frame shot against some of the reeds on the far shore. Sure do love this place...

LR and PS. Evicted a few small specs and blemishes on the water line and blended one strong reed stem behind.

HHi Brian, can I assume this is from updating your Lr, but still wedded to Adobe Color?

Good detail and I like the framing/reflection, but for me it's just all too saturated and the sooty streaks in the green are a bit unfortunate, but that's all part of Adobe Col. Did you add the catch light?

LR not updated yet. Started with Adobe standard. No catchlight added, a second one was removed.

There were shadows in the reeds. Sorry you don't like it.

Didn't say I didn't like it Brian, I just prefer a less Saturated look.

    A typical " Sump image " ... well done Brian .
I do like the overall comp and the color layers created by natural environment , placement of the subject and it's reflection is sublime .
Details and sharpness are nice as are the overall colors .... I do like the " velvia touch " with the intense greens and oranges .
Just think the deepest blacks could go a touch " lighter " .... but I know you like it that way .

Very nice image overall and pleasure to look at !!!

Beauty of a shot Brian, the Avocet is spot on do wish for less saturation on the background some, just a personnel preference. I have some issues myself on over saturation and have to be cautious. Small in the frame works well. TFS

Super Brian, but for me just too saturated.

I love everything about this including and especially the rich colors and the deep black of the primary feathers. I think that this one is a male with the relatively straight bill. And I believe that the one in your next avocet post is a lady. Not to mention that I love the "sooty streaks" in the green vegetation.

See today's blog post here for my comments on film, specifically Velvia.
