I was back in my element last month as a few shorebirds passed through last month. Not many, but enough to make me happy for a couple of days! This one walked in just the right spot to give the image golden vibes.

Canon R6 + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2000s., f/5.6, ISO 400, handheld while lying prone on the ground, small crop to help the comp (about 85% FF), evened out the shadows via burn and sponge tools.

Just beautiful Daniel what's not to like. The gold yellow background go so good with the bird. That's what makes it pop. TFS

Lovely as always Daniel. I might go for a bit less at the bottom, but that's just me.

    Daniel:

I could tell it was your image from just looking at the thumbnail. Crawling around on the ground again, to get the great POV! Lovely color harmony, with a touch of the blue for variety. Subtle bits like the tiny drop of water.

    Excellent

The image strongly portrays the phrase: 'Dipping your toe in the water', excellent execution Dan.

DATPCA! Not to mention that it is molting into its spiffy alternate (breeding) plumage.

Daniel, I echo the positives above. That gold palette is special.

Just love the simple serenity here and the leg up is always a bonus!
