    Default Nuthatch

Another image of the Nuthatch who is not looking his best, constantly in search for food for the nest. A different perch until the Woodpecker flew in and decided to 'drill' around in search of food, leaving fragments of wood which I just had to leave.

Some colour blown in as there was some heavy contrast from the bushes in the BKG which was not that attractive.

    Attracted with seed.

    This frame is awesome, Steve.
Love the composition and IQ is superb. Don't mind the 'drill bits', all natural. Great HA from the bird and pose altogether. Nice POV. BG is to die for

Warmest regards and thank you so much for sharing,

HAHA, some of these with contrast in have been a pain, this was very easy to address, it was too distracting otherwise.

The WP's were being a real pain that day, but all fair in love & war. it does appear warm, but if the whites are correct then I'm running with it.

Steve, everything here looks great. And even better when viewed in PS

Colours look good, the pose is ok but it does sort of portray a "clinical/record" appearance - that's the way the cookie crumbles. The loose wood on the left is fine with me, I like to have some natural irregularities in set ups.

Hi Steve ... nice high quality image .
Lovely fine details and a good use of tonal range , I do like the overall colors with a good depth . Personally I would go a bit cooler on the color front .
Interesting to see the DOF fall off in the rear leg and tail whereas the DOF is more visible in front ( on the perch ) .
There are some irregularities in tones along some edges ( Perch and rear leg ) ... I guess from masking .

Nicely processed frame of a lovely little bird .

    Cheers Andreas

Cheers Jon, indeed, sadly he wouldn't offer anything else, preoccupied with the Jay & WP.

    Could well be.

Hi Steve, looks good to me. Wonderful feather detail, really interesting perch, not familiar with the bird so won't comment on colors. Thank you for sharing.

I like this...It reminds me of the photographs I used to look at in books in the early days. The perfect pose, but an unusual pose for this bird..Very nice detail on the bird and the colours look ok to me. The greens in the BG show the bird well. I've added a similar type perch at my set up.
