This beautiful male in breeding plumage was cooperative enough to perch on a fresh twig of foliage. I did physically pluck out a couple of leaves beforehand to give it room to land in a good spot, and the plan worked - albeit with the use of audio.

Canon R6 + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/9, ISO 1600, handheld, FF, reduced a couple of bright highlights shining form the leaves, and did lift a few of the deeper shadows (light was getting a little harsh for my taste by this time). Also used the Spot Removal tool to get rid of two pesky short strands of spider webbing on the subject.

Dan, I am so jealous of your images, always!
Superb composition, beautifully exposed and great detail on the subject. Wonderful pose. Those orange feathers, aaaaargh...love everything about this

    Warmest regards,

Looking real good Dan...Pose, HA and detail look perfect. The BG colours blend well with the leaves.

Love the overall color contrast and the sweet bird sitting in the provided spot ... you really seem to have a good hand for the use of audio to attract the birds . I am using it when possible , but they do land all over the place ... not surely where I want them got land .
Very well captured and processed Dan ... not nits from my side

Another beauty Daniel. You are crushing it with the attractive songbirds so far!

A really great [curious?] pose amidst the larger trees. And simple yet colorful bkg to go with.

    Keep em coming mate!

Hi Dan, well executed as usual and the choice of set-up means the subject pops very well against the colour palette. Both leaves and branch are in sympathy to the size of subject, so it's all in keeping.

Taking a leaf out of Alan M book, (no pun intended), you should do some educational postings on your set-ups, how you choose your perches for the subjects, positioning, backdrops etc. It would be a winner in my book and something that would help a lot of folk IMHO.
