    Default Chamois

Hi folks went during my recent trip to the Vosges in France to photograph the Chamois over there ...
I did see plenty of them .... but they do move away from the folks over the day time and are only in closer range from early morning and later in the day , when most of the hikers has left .
Weather was not on my side over the 6 days I stayed there .... mornings has been very foggy with sometimes almost stumbling over the Chamois , but they do run if they are surprised .
But at least I got some nice stuff , for the first that I tried to shoot this species . Will for sure return to that area

That's a really good clear well defined Chamois if ever I saw one! It seems to be walking by without a care in the world.

Whenever I have seen them in Switzerland hiking, they are always high up and around half a KM away. You can never get this close, probably because they are hunted so nice to see one close. Doesn't look in great shape, moulting? Not a lover of the shooting angle, but the habitat is nice. Find the HL in front of the chest a bit eye catching.

Thanks Jon and Steve for your comments , much appreciated .

@ Steve ... yes they are loosing winter fur , so they look not in perfect shape varying from one to another . The shooting angle is reflecting the slope she was walking downwards ... so fully natural and no need to level the frame , IMHO . I do not mind the HL .

No need to ‘level’ just not a lover of the shooting POV. Perhaps if this was smaller in frame with more habitat, it may have helped?

First time I've seen a decently close-up shot of one. Like the overall "earthy" colour tones in the surroundings and the subject.
Presume the diagonal angle is from running downhill?

Thanks Morkel ... I would call this not running , but relaxed walking down hill

With a bit of patience you will get to see ... real close ups

    Cheers Andreas
