Default Lioness returns after a late night...

After an hour or so searching, we came across part of the Topi pride, 13 females scattered over a few hundred meters all looking in one direction, sadly the thought of the pride on a kill was dashed as they then simultaneously collapsed into the tall grasses. Then moving on we caught this lady slowly walking along the track on her own towards the pride, but then she just went into the deep shrub and lay down.

Assumptions were that she might have been from the Rekero pride and that she had crossed the river on a hunt, (or hiding something else?) but was avoiding confrontation with the girls from the Topi pride.

Hohoho ... hopefully Mr Arthur will not see this .
Steve i do like the lighting and the light , nice warm light hitting the scene illuminating the grass and subject and creates some sculpting in all elements .
Colors and tones looking nice , I do specially like the various shades of green/ yellows in the grass .
DOF is spot on and the walking pose is solid nice .

Surprised to see that you are risking sharpness loss with your SS , plenty of room for the Iso and the SS ... you might have had a reason for your choice

She's a beauty Steve, and in such great condition. You captured her so well . Looks like she's got cubs???

Thanks Andreas & Gabriela. I wanted to get a bit more motion in the front paw Andreas, not just to 'freeze' the subject.

You have some corkers to post Gabriela, putting this into the shade.

Lovely head-on view, with a great pose and sweet light Steve.
I think it's worth a slight CCW rotation? For me it's always the eyeline that needs to "look level".
