Glad you liked the Bufflehead "spinning its wheels" that I previously posted. Now here it is in actual flight, still low to the water.

Canon R6 + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/5000s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld while prone on the ground, cropped for composition, careful dodge and burn to reduce contrast. In hindsight I should remove the lower catchlight.

Hi Dan, about as perfect as can be. No nits from me, wish it were mine. Thank you for sharing.

Equally as enjoyable Daniel. Still clamoring about getting clean flight shots with such a narrow dof.

Always great when more perpendicular to get the iridescence on the head but you did a nice job here bringing the colors out.

Beautiful flight pose and dreamy color transition behind. Well done!

    hi,

    Wow.. )

pastel-flavored flight frame, to be hung on the living room wall. First of all, it's smooth, the transitions are very simple, it's relaxing to watch... Daniel, you have a good style.

Fantastic! I could rattle off a list, but it’s easier to say I love everything about it!

Great flight of the Bufflehead. Doesn't get any better. Wing position and iridescence are lovely. TFS

    Daniel:

Outstanding shot, POV, wing position, angle in frame, DOF, etc. etc.

Truly in the nitpicking category, because it is so good, but there appears to be a bit of haloing along the top of the head just to the left of the eye.

Still, I would really love to have such a fine shot of this generally uncooperative bird!!

    Cheers

Amazing! Really tough little critters to catch in flight; and to get him with perfect flight position, low to the water and with such a dreamy background is just stunning. Congratulations.
