Thanks Gabriela, I would totally change how I would shoot this now.

Magnificent, I'd say, focus colours and details look spot on. I like the raised foot too.

Hi Steve, I echo the positive comments, nice image. A little nit I know beyond your control, if the head was angled slightly towards the viewer I think the shadow would not be there. Wonderful colors and feather detail. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Steve ... very nice to get this beautiful crane species so close to take images .
Technically nicely captured and I do like the walking pose . Superb details rendered ....
I think the shot is too tight ... no room to breathe for the subject , light was not on your side already looking harsh .... but I would have shot it as well
Gras does look a bit flat and lifeless to ma , personal taste .

Beautiful subject but too tight in the frame. With the head turned away this is an insta-delete for me.

Agree on the tightness, grass is what it is. With hindsight the whole shooting aspect/techs would be different, live and learn for next time, but ultimately not fall in the footsteps of DSLR shooting IMHOP.

H/A marginal, but happy to get something as these guys consistently move and often move away from you, yes a turn more to camera would be better…

The head angle is not marginal. Thread is turned so far away that the bill is in complete shadow.
