I have been stalking these guys for the past couple of days and finally made my move this morning. Captured them with some sweet morning light. After transfering this over to a computer that has internet access from my laptop, it looks a little off, but the tif looks great.

    Nikon D80, 300F4x1.4, 1/250 f5.6, ISO 320, fill flash -1 1/3 w/ better beamer

Wow, this one looks just about perfect to me. Lovely light and subject, lovely water colors, and a great look back head angle. I would blow up the master file and do just a bit of work on the pupil as the flashed highlight looks funky...

This is soooo good it hurts :)

Background really makes the bird stand out, and the definition on him is superb. Big congrats!!!

Just love the water color. Agree with Artie on the eye repair.

Very good Dan. I agree about the eye...but that's about it!! Love the wet feathers on the body.

The warm background colors enhance your subject to a high degree. Lovely turn back (the bird that is) and composition. :)

Nice shot. I like the low angle and the colors in the water. Looks like it could use a little more sharpening.

Great angle, colors and eye contact. Another vote for eye repair and a bit more sharpening.

Wonderful work, Dan! Be proud of this one. I love the composition, and head angle/eye contact make this one very special. I agree with Artie that working on the eye would pay off nicely. I also think that adding a Selective Color adjustment layer and adding about 10% of black to the Neutrals really makes this one pop.

WOW! Love the shape of the eye, usually this species displays a more round eye, this one has an attitude! Could stand a bit of sharpening. Dan Brown

I cannot add to what has already been said so I'll echo it. GREAT detail and EXCELLENT bg. I LOVE it!!!!
I agree with the tad sharpening and the rework on that eye. But other than that it's masterful!
