Hi Jon ... better SS and overall presentation , compared to the Coal image .
The light was already harsh , but you did quite well i think with the shadows .
Nice colors in the subject and the perch is cool with all the lichens covering it .

Overall a cool shot . It would have been nice to use fill flash under the light circumstances to give the shadow side a natural look instead of messing around in post with it . But with ProCapture not an option

    hi Jon,
everything is very good for me the angle of the bird alone deducts one point. if only it was facing us a little.

    Congratulations.

Thanks Volkan, glad you like it.
Andreas, I did very little in terms of processing, I lifted the shadows a little but nothing much.

Very nice Jon....You captured the take off at the right time...With the feet just leaving the perch....Yes, a wee bit better HA, and the far wing raised would have taken it up a notch....The colours on the bird are good with nice detail....The perch is lovely and the BG colours look good...Well captured...not an easy bird to photograph in flight.

Good timing on the lift-off. Colors and details are very nice, but the shadows on the bird are a bit much for me, even if the head is nicely lit. I agree with others re: more head turn.

Love the feet in this one Jon! I agree with others about the angle of the bird, but great timing on this one anyhow.
