    This is much better compositionally. The glare off the leaves is distracting and there is still lots of noise in the little bits of blue water.

    Beautiful image. I bet it wasn't easy to get. A lower angle might look better, if it was possible to do. Thanks for posting.

    Hi Joan, I like this one better than your earlier post and I've yet to get close to a bittern.

    Hi Joan, this is a lovely image of a bittern. I agree that a lower angle might have been preferable but sometimes this just isn't possible!!

    This was our first really good look at a bittern out in the open ever. Maybe we will be lucky again when we are back at this place in Jan 2009. Will try to remember to bend down, if I didn't already - don't remember.

    Nice sharp image.
    I would prefer a slightly looser crop with a bit more space in front.

    not much more room in front. but could try it. bird would get smaller!, unless take some off the back?

    IMHO a wee bit off the back and a bit more of the front would be good, but OF foreground could require a more panoramic image.
