Works for me. The red really helps him pop out of the background...this has a rather zen feeling to it for me.

Nice one, Harold! Good composition and love your choice of DOF. I wonder if you whitened that patch on the bird's cheek just a bit if that would help make him pop out from the grass just a bit more?

Wish you could have placed im closer to the UL corner for a stronger compostiion and that the weeds didnt cover the face so much.
