I liked the surroundings on this one, so decided to keep it smallish in frame......ACR, Topaz DN and PS.

Nice look at this Pheasant Will! I rarely get tho see these guys out in the open (always with lots of vegetation around them) so great job nailing this one! Looks like the highlights and whites were a bit challenging on this one. but you managed them well.

What a peach of a shot! Super setting wonderful colours and details. I like the feather fluff up - always good to see some beahavioural aspect. My one reservation is the white colollar - just a little bright to render detail.

Will you caught a great pheasant image, the birds colors just pop. I drive by hundreds some mornings and have very few images. They run and spook easy here. I seldom try. I like the way the feathers are ruffled gives more depth. TFS

Hi Will a wise decision made by going wider , as a great option .
I would just remove the two stems on RHS ... for a cleaner look .
Other than that it does look very good ... love the pose and the ruffled feathers .

Very nice image and TFS Andreas

I'm digging the wider view showing more of the mound and the surroundings, so well done on that front. The two sticks at right mildly distracting, but that's gonna be some pretty heavy-handed cloning
to remove them. And they don't suck much attention of the bird anyway since he's so colorful, fluffy, and attentive. I also like that one foot is raised just a touch. A very nice result!

Hi Dorian and Will .... just a demo of 2 minutes invested in removing the stems , not much of work and it was just crudely done

The ruffled feathers make this one for me, and I am also digging the "mound" it is standing on. I love the low light as well.

Thanks for the repost Andreas.....I was actually thinking about removing the stems, but decided to leave them.....Your repost does look 'cleaner'...
