    Default Boat-tailed Grackle (Florida)

Nailed this male as he commuted between two perches. The background is duckweed as in my other recent shots, albeit farther in the distance.

It was weird to be shooting at ISO 1600 in bright sun, but that's what it took to stop the action and get any detail on the dark subject.

Looks good to me, Dorian. Yup, the brown eyes of a Florida Boat-tailed Grackle. Good colors and detail, pure background. Nice image, thank you for sharing.

Hi Dorian ... nice handling of the tones and colors in the subject .
Pose is good , but the calling makes the difference in this case ... glad you got the head turned towards the viewer .
BG is ... ok ... but I would have preferred a bit of structure , but no chance with this kind of shots against a very uniform BG by nature .

    Nice one and TFS Andreas

Ditto all the positives and I rather like the background.

Really nice calling pose in flight you managed Dorian! I am totally fine with the BG, I think it makes this one pop. Nice work! No nits from me
