    I captured this image along Joe Overstreet Road in Kenansville, Florida. Captured from inside the vehicle through an open window. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 500mm PF + Nikon 1.4 III Teleconverter, Handheld
    1/3200 F/8 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 900 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 700mm (1050mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2023, and Topaz Photo AI, work on eye to remove nictating membrane from upper eye
    Cropped slightly for composition and presentation

    Super image, Joe! Bird is very alert, and the open wings are a very nice touch. Lighting, exposure, and details are all perfect. A beauty!

    Though man-made, I think the perch is weathered enough to work quite well. Could use a bit more room above as other have noted.

    Did this individual steal a meadowlark's perch lol! Fun defiant pose here. OK perch, and excellent BG. Did you work on the eye by any chance?

    Hi Dan, thank you for viewing and commenting. Yes I did work on the eye to remove the nictating membrane from the upper half. I mentioned that below in the comments. Did you see something I missed?

    Ah! I read your comment but did miss that - oops. Yes, the eye looks a little too clean and somewhat painted. But considering you removed the nictitating membrane it's pretty good.

    Joe, I think the issue for the eye is that the iris is the same shade of solid brown from pupil to outer edge. For the repost I just gave it some subtle burning near the outer edge and I feel it gave a more natural look.

    Very nice shot, I like the pose, he looks pretty pleased with himself showing off his plumage.
