Taken back in January this year. I know past prime position. I just never was able to get both wings full up at a better angle. Partially cloudy, the bird was sun lighted and the background in shade.

The lighting on the bird is beyond perfect - as good as it gets! Same for the background. Processing looks spot on. Sure the far wing could higher, but the the head angle it the
bigger issue. If you had the bird's gaze, this woulda been a showstopper. Still **** good, but hopefully you'll get another crack before the all head back north.

Hi Jack, I agree with Dorian's comments. Beautiful light, pure background, beautiful bird. It is unfortunate that the bird did not give you a glance to show the bills. Thank you for sharing.

I will also echo Dorian's comments. Really was hoping for more head turn and this would be off the charts. Still nicely done

Yes, a better HA would really make a difference...but, you captured a nice flight pose...Sharp and well exposed...The BG adds a lot....Very nice.

Super shot wonderful details, I don't really worry about the head angle, at that orientation you would have to have been pretty fortuitous for it to have pointed it's head toward you.
