Something different today. I have been wanting to do some BW for some time. This was my first attempt. I like it. I did find it harder in some ways than regular processing. We don't have to worry about any blues at least.I do appreciate the comments on the blues from yesterday.
Processed with Dpp 4,Topaz Photoshop. Welcome some critiques and comments.

    Kevin:

I am a real fan of black and white photography. The subject is excellent, nice detail, tonal range, sharp. Interesting pose as well. From a compositional standpoint, perhaps a bit too much negative space on the left. I also might try a version with a few of the larger, out of focus plant smudges removed. The ones at eye level are what draws my eye. Because the image is so high key, those areas stand out. I do like the image a lot overall.

    Cheers

I really like this. I agree with Randy and would crop some of the left to remove some negative space including the OOF twigs.

Kevin I think this is fantastic!! The details in the bird are super, in the colour version the OOF grasses on the left were important, in this version much less so in my opinion, I would be tempted to take a slice off the LHS.

Thanks Jonathan and your right I should have taken some canvas off. As it doesn't add anything as the grass on the left is barely visible in BW.
