It was a very quiet morning - I had pressed the shutter button approximately zero times and heading home, when out of the blue this Barred Owl seemingly just appeared out of nowhere. It had been there all along without moving of course but it was a fun and unexpected encounter. A very windy day and I had to wait for some FG branches to move out of the way as they swayed to and fro in front of the owl.

This is a real natural one Daniel. Colors and sharpness look good. I really like how texture on the bark on the spruce comes through along with the green foliage. TFS

    Daniel:

Always nice to be rewarded for your efforts. Agree with Jon. I also like the effect of the wind on the plumage, ruffled feathers and bent tail, helps tell the story of the windy day.

    Cheers

Really like the framing of this bird by the branches and trunk. No doubt about the environment of this bird in this shot.

Even though the background is a little busy, the bird is is framed such that it's not too distracting. I'm not sure if it's the 1200 pixel crop, but the face looks pretty soft to me.

Remarkably good, the bird is shown well in habitat and the colours are subliminal
