Hi folks....thought I would post on the wildlife, as I haven't been here for a while.

The Pine Marten is one of Scotlands most secretive predators as they mostly hunt during the hours of darkness....For this shot, I used an LED light and three remote flash units....Before the Pine Marten showed, I took a few test shots, to set my exposure....Because I was using flash, the slow SS wasn't an issue....I then waited, and waited, as it got colder down to -6, I was ready to pack up when the Pine Marten showed....This young 'Kit' gave me a great photo opportunity, as it remained for about 10 mins...The light nor the flash didn't deter it in anyway....I managed around 50 frames, all sharp with different poses.....Gimbal Head....Almost FF, cropped for comp.....ACR and PS.......... As a thank you, I put four eggs out for the Pine Marten,.....Put the light off, and went home cold, but happy

Hi Will ... nice to see you jumping over to this section .

Very cool to see a new species here , at least for me .
You created a lovely image of this nocturnal chap and your patience paid off .
You did really well technically , with all those flashes and LED lights .... albeit I am not a big fan of night shots .
    Lovely fine hairs rendered

    Hello Will,

Lovely capture of this Pine Marten!

Nice image design, subject well exposed and great detail too. I do like the pose with mouth open and those tiny teeth yet somehow wish I could see its face better, especially the eyes.

Overall a very attractive frame with good colours ( love that chocolate brown coat ) and I especially like the dark background as well as the lichen on the branch which adds a bit of interest.

Thank you very much for sharing, a well taken and well processed image, I took great pleasure viewing.

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
