I was fortunate to get a lot of frames of this cooperative Vermillion Flycatcher. This was NOT a setup, just a very cooperative bird who landed at a lot of open perches searching for food. I was trying to get a good takeoff shot. I managed a lot of frames of him taking off but not one where he was turned toward me, so no such luck there. But that's the reason for the higher SS if anyone is curious.

Kurt: Very cute pose, interesting perch, soft background. I am seeing a bit of blown reds when I checked the histogram, but close. I might be tempted to sharpen the eye and surrounding feathers just a little.

Nice to have such a cooperative subject!

    Cheers

Hi Kurt, beautiful bird, interesting pose, and perch. I like the pure background, and simple image design. I read Randy's comments and will defer to him because I didn't check the reds. Thank you for sharing.

Nice shot, the reds do look a tad OTT and perhaps a little more detail could be forthcoming in the dark area on the junction of the wings and tail.
