This one works for me! Active pose, big splash adds to the drama, good head angle, nice separation of subject from BG. Like the comp, perhaps a tiny sliver off the top, personal taste really.

Subject pops nicely from the water , love the water around its body and the spreaded wings .
Would prefer a central placement and a bit more room at the foot .
There is more detail to coax from the darker tones ... as an option see my RP ...
Gotta love that water action! Nice wingspread too. Agree a bit tight below - I suspect you do not have canvas to add back there, so Randy's suggestion to crop a bit above would help. Nice details. I like both versions.
Really nice exposure, pose and head turn Jon! I agree about it being a little tight at the bottom, but that is pretty minor. I think the RP is a bit of an improvement as well. Really nice work!
