Hi folks ... still more KF stuff
This time the take off for diving ....
It was again quite dark and foggy that morning , cleared up around noon .... anyway I took the chance to get her diving .
In 50 % I missed the point where I had to press the shutter ... she was just too quick , better said I am too slow with my reactions.
Canon EOS R 3
EF 200 - 400 IS L at 300 mm
Tripod
F 6,3 ; Iso 12,800 ; 1/2500 sec ( faster would have been better )
Processed with Capture One and PSCC 2023 ; cropped to 70 % of FF fort better composition .
Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous postings
Its a great shot, I think instinctively I would have gone for 1/3200 sec as a default but I note high ISO. Why do you imply 1/2500sec was inadequate, it looks sharp to me. Colours look natural and the background is complimentary, the action of course takes things up a peg or two! This little lady has been a good subject!
Lol, I do not know why it makes me laugh but I love the swooping curve of the tail! Good colours, comp. The faint lines in the BG's highlights make it seem like perhaps some CW rotation would be a good thing to explore. I like that you chose a vertical comp here, it works well.
There's a bit of residual noise, but the image looks good given the ISO. I suspect f/4 woulda helped with the ing blur, but it might have cost you more in DOF. These are the hairs you have to split
when shooting fast birds in crappy light though. I think there's a bit too much room below, but I'm not sure what you can do about it given the constraints of the bird and the perch.
Looking good here Andreas.......And, well done on the capture.....I know how difficult it is....I really like the pose, the BG presents the image well.....Nice detail for 1/2500.....Colours look good....I have some at 1/5000 when the bird was shaking and there is still motion blur Steve was suggesting turning off the eye detection...I've never had the chance yet to try that....Did you have it on....
Great job nabbing this one Andreas! I agree the SS would maybe have been better at 1/3200 or more, but looks really sharp to my eye! I agree about the CW rotation but glad you shot this at f/6.3, I like seeing the entire perch in focus as well. Great job and congrats!
