Nice clear view to the Cormorant , Jon ... perch is not crazy interesting we just have to live with those perches at times .
Subject looks good in terms of tones and details ...wish he would be turned more towards the viewer .
Is the breast that blue in real life in a Cormorant ??? Maybe you have a blue morph ... over there ??

    Jon:

Nice feather details, esp. on the wing. I like the waves in the background. Helps with the sense of depth, without being overpowering or distracting.
I would be tempted to crop down from the top some. It would highlight the bird a bit more, and also give the illusion of a lower shooting perspective.

    Cheers

It would surprise me that the eye is more cyan than emerald in real life , like wise the blue / cyan feet .... but your call and it might be just me , so no big deal .

Although the perch is so-so, I still feel pointing your lens down would have made for a more balanced comp (and helped to include the full "hole" touching the bottom frame) - or crop from above as per Randy. Good techs and sharpness, and the patterns in the BG water are very neat.
