    Default Tricolored Heron

    I was about to pack it in on account of steep sun, but I cracked off a few frames of this bird right before I left. I'm happy I did as I think the water is really sweet.

    Canon 600mm f/4 IS II on EOS R5
    1/4000 at f/5.6, ISO 400
    Processed in LR CC

    Hi Dorian ... unusual " steep " shooting angle that you used here
    Bird looks great in terms of pose , fine detail and color . Water is interesting .
    Personally I would lighten the subject ( not much ) and lower the contrast in the underwing to make the shadow lees obvious , just down to personal pref .

    Nice flight pose you grabbed here! I wish the angle wasn't so steep but sounds like you were leaving and grabbed this right before you left, so I'm guessing you just stood up :)
    I agree with Andrea about maybe lightening the subject just a tad more.

    Pleasing image, I too would concur over the subject being a little brighter.
