    Default Big Ugly

Sorry for the continuing deluge of shots, but bird photography in Florida is really, really fruitful. Only four more days in the Sunshine State before
I head to Georgia and South Carolina. From there its off to Hawaii to lead a 9-day birding tour. Rough assignment, I know.

Anyway, this is a headshot I've wanted for years. This species usually doesn't photograph well for a number of reasons (all dark, often overhead), but
they are something crazy at close range!

Lovely detail in this "ugly" bird. Reminds me of the Brush Turkey and helmeted guineafowl we have here. Well processed. Cheers.

Good job, looks optimum to me, colours, detail very good indeed. I may be tempted to add a little contrast to the background, it looks a little flat to me - but I appreciate that may be exactly what you wished for.

Hi Dorian ... a fine head shot with nice colors , fine BG and perfect head turn .
    Cool character ...
Image appears slightly soft here on my screen and you can coax out more depth from the HL and tonal structure in the head ...IMHO

RP as an option to consider
