    Default Herring Gull with Starfish

Here's another image from Sachuest Point NWR. I clipped the tail and wingtips in the original horizontal image, so cropped it as a vertical.

    20D, 400 f5.6, 1/1250 @ f7.1, ISO 400.

    Thanks for looking!

Hey Josh, the crop works well. I hope the gull didn't try to eat the starfish, looks like a bad idea. :) If you have, maybe a bit more space on the top and a slight boost in saturation.

    Josh,
I agree with Axel that it needs a little tweaking with the light and color--some Curves would help make it pop.

Also, since you cropped it from a horizontal, I would go back and leave a little bit more room on the left side. Artie always suggests leaving "an inch" after an element like the leg of the bird, and just seeing a touch more would be nice.
