This was taken at Ash Canyon this summer. This young Anna's was very territorial guarding this perch near one of the feeders. I do wish I had a tiny bit more head turn, but I liked the particles of pollen on the beak.

Excellent lighting and detail, Kurt. Back views gives detail on the wings but sacrifices the feet. Head angle seems pretty sweet to me. I might shift the crop left to give the bird a bit more room behind. Otherwise really sweet!
It's not often we see perched hummingbirds so big in the frame! I think I'd prefer a bit more room in the comp, but it is nice to see the iridescent plumage detail this way too. I'm OK with the head turn. I also appreciate the foot being visible. Cool image!
Hi Kurt the subject looks wonderful to me with nice details , colors and tones .
BG looks great and I do not mind the HA .
Perch is what it is , looks a bit dominant just by it's size ... but if the subject had chosen it not much one can do .
Even at F9 the DOF is too shallow to get the whole subject in focus .
