Nice environmental shot Colin. Well exposed and great details in the blacks. I know some iridescent but maybe slight color shift on the bird. Could be my computer also. The biggest problem for me is the eye something going on the iris is flat? Maybe Dof TFS

Good shot nice pose, I think there is a magenta cast on the bird and twig.

Great calling pose and you captured good detail....BG fits well....There is a cast as Jon said...maybe try reducing the blues on the bird

Pose is great, and the layered feathers on the next are great. Same for the scaly feet. I agree there is a magenta cast on the bird, but the bigger issue is that the breast, flanks, belly, and undertail have been smoothed too much, perhaps with
excessive NR after lifting shadows. The feather detail has really suffered and the bird looks plastic as a result. I'd revisit that stage of the processing and see what detail you can salvage.

Hi Colin ... nice shot and the calling pose is a nice addition .
Color is matter of taste , but I think the subject looks slight off with a blueish / magenta cast also creeping into the perch .... but as in the past you have your own vision of color casts
I do agree with Dorian about the overall " plastic " look .

I like the calling pose quit a bit! I too think the underside of the bird looks smoothed out though and see the slight color cast. I think it's worth a re-visit.
